Looking Back on Our CSR Day Focused on Social Connections and Team Cohesion!
On Monday, December 8, 2025, we had the chance to experience a day like no other, entirely imagined and organized internally by our CSR committee. On the agenda: discovery workshops, an immersion into the roles of each department, and an open sharing of the challenges our teams face every day.
The day had a clear goal: to highlight the richness of our professions, gain a deeper understanding of each other’s realities, and further strengthen our team spirit.
And we can confidently say it was a success!
A huge thank you to all our employees for their presence, energy, and commitment. We are proud to have organized a day designed with heart, aimed at fostering connections, showcasing our talents, and continuing to move forward together.
The family-owned company PAYAN BERTRAND, a specialist in aromatic products and fragrances since 1854, is entering a new and significant phase of its development.
The construction of a new industrial site dedicated to fragrance compounding in Le Plan-de-Grasse marks a decisive milestone, with opening scheduled for the end of 2026.
This €12 million investment — construction of which has just begun — will provide PAYAN BERTRAND with a state-of-the-art, high-performance, and sustainable production facility fully aligned with its ambitions. After more than fifteen years of land research in and around Grasse, the project came to fruition in 2024 with the support of Sogefimur/Société Générale, through the acquisition of an ideally located 4,000 m² plot.
Designed by Didier Becchetti Architectes, the future plant will comprise 2,800 m² of highly automated spaces, bringing together the fragrance creation and evaluation departments, as well as the application and quality control laboratories.
Entirely dedicated to fragrance production, the new facility will serve the perfumery, cosmetics, personal care, hygiene, home fragrance, and various industrial sectors.
“This new site embodies our commitment to combining tradition and innovation while reinforcing our development in Grasse, the historic birthplace of perfumery,” said Dominique Proal, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of PAYAN BERTRAND.
By 2027, the group will operate through two distinct yet complementary Business Units: • The new “Pacome” site in Le Plan-de-Grasse, dedicated to fragrances, • The historic “1886” site, modernized and refocused on the production of natural aromatic ingredients for the perfumery and flavor industries.
This strategic reorganization will enable PAYAN BERTRAND to continue its growth while strengthening its identity as an independent Grasse-based company, blending heritage expertise with industrial innovation.

His legacy will remain alive within our company and in the hearts of all who knew, respected, and loved him.

June 14th, 2024 : a memorable day for Payan Bertrand.
We had the pleasure of celebrating our 170th Crazy Years in the enchanting setting of the Château de Crémat.
This magnificent place, which breathes history and elegance, was the scene of unforgettable moments, between laughs, lively conversations and frenzied dances.
This estate has been a place of viticulture since Roman times, located in an idyllic setting between the sea and the mountains. It was owned by atypical and visionary characters who knew how to make it an architectural gem. During the Roaring Twenties, the whimsical Irène Bretz, a very wealthy shareholder of an American railway company, took over the Château. In 1923, she undertook major development work under the direction of the architectural firm Charles Dalmas, who worked on the construction of the Carlton hotel in Cannes. She then received all the celebrities that the Côte d’Azur has to offer. It was at this time that Henri Proal acquired the company Payan & Bertrand…
Thank you to all those who participated in making this evening so special.

It was the occasion for our R&D Director, Frederic Badie, to put into perspective the legitimate expectations around the AI. Frederic emphasized on the role of the human being, of the local culture of perfume plants, of the notions of ancestral know-how and secular transmission governing our trades since the origin but which must adapt to the challenges and upheavals of our societies: increasing impact of regulations, evolution of ethical values, temporality etc…)
A preamble to the opening of a fascinating debate about the place of AI: how and for what purpose, with which limits to be imposed to preserve the objectives of the industry and the territory.
